I made a set of 30-Up mailing labels with the names of the books of the Bible (I only made one label for numbered books such as I and II Corinthians). I put one label on each of a series of sturdy plastic cups. I placed a strip of packaging tape over each label in hopes that they will last for a while or at least not ALL come apart at once. In the interest of making it easier for teachers to grab just the OT or NT, I used a different color for each. I am thinking about making a second set where they are all the same color. Here are some ways these can be used:
-Designate one side of the room for OT and the other for NT. Had children one cup at a time and have them put them in the right section of the room (clearly this works better if they are not color co-ordinated by testament
-Set up 6 tables: History, Law, Epistle, Gospel, Poetry, Prophesy-proceed as in the example above
-Give a child or a pair of children 5 or more cups (based on skill level), instruct children to stack the cups in order; have them check their work using the Table of Contents in their own Bibles
These games can easily be turned into races or relays if you want to have some friendly competition
